Let Go And Let God (Part 1)
We’re going to be starting a new series titled Let Go and Let God. Before we do that, let’s do what we’re accustomed to doing and let’s acknowledge God. I thank you, heavenly father for this opportunity to get at the feet of your son, Jesus and to do the one thing that’s need for and that’s to hear His word. I thank you, God, that you are causing each and every one of us to have an impartation of your spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Jesus. I thank you that the eyes of our understanding are being enlightened, that we may know what the hope of His calling is, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in us, the saints and what is the exceeding greatness of His power towards us who believe according to the working of His mighty power.
I thank you, Lord Jesus, that you’re expounding to us on the scriptures about the things concerning yourself and you’re opening up our understanding and causing us to know you more, to comprehend the scriptures more, to see your heart of love, unconditional love and your grace, God towards us. I thank you, heavenly father, that as we do the one thing that’s needful, as we increase in the knowledge of yours, God, every promise of provision, prosperity, protection, refreshing, restoration, every good and perfect gift that you’ve promised God, that comes to us, Lord, when we get at the feet of Jesus and hear His word. I thank you that you are causing it to be our portion and we are receiving from you effortlessly. I thank you that we go back to places, God and in situations and circumstances that were trouble and fine, God, that trouble has been driven out by your own hand as we did the one thing that was needful. In Jesus name, amen.
Let Go And Let God
This series is more than one time, it’s timeless. We all need a good reminder that we have to let go and let God, that we need to enter in and remain in God’s rest. We need that. Why do I say always and all the time? We have people whether they are meaning it for harm or whether they are accidentally stumbling over us like the maid servant that dropped Jonathan’s son and crippled him. Some people aren’t always malicious. There is no malice in their heart but nevertheless, they’ve done something to hurt us then don’t forget about right. The devil himself, who’s the fool and seems to never be satisfied with trying to bother or vex us because he’s got a bone to pick with all mighty God.
We even got our own self. Sometimes the flesh, we’re not the flesh but we have it and it gets the best of us. I thank God for this particular show. I thank God for the timing He’s releasing it in. I believe that the fruit it bears, the fruit that God will cause, these truths and revelations to bear in each and every one of us, including myself, will remain. I believe God is going to cause this to bear much fruit that remains so that when, not if, trouble comes because Jesus promised in this world we’d have trouble but be of good cheer, He’s overcome this whole world. No need to panic beloved. Jesus has overcome the world and He is more than for you and in such a way that nothing can successfully be against you.
He is the God who works everything together for your good, that’s good, bad, ugly and indifferent. Things we know why it happened and the things we’re still on the fence about, He works all those things together for our good. We have a wonderful loving savior and we’re going to get at His feet and get to know Him better and have our lives transformed from the inside out. This is what I felt from the Holy Spirit when He was preparing this particular message through me to begin with this eternal truth about God’s heart concerning us. We’re not just going to dive right in to letting go and letting God, I’m somebody who does not like to feel the pressure of demands. For example, they’re wanting to quit smoking and somebody comes and says, “You need to quit smoking.” I don’t know if they get the impact of words like that.
If this person could quit smoking on their own, they’d been there and done that. They bought the T-shirt and the hat to match by now. It’s bondage like selling a prisoner who’s behind bars, “You need to get out of here.” “You think? I don’t have the key to that door. I need God’s help and everything.” Apart from Him, we can do nothing. The one that can’t quit smoking is the person who is the delivered but Jesus is the deliverer. To come and tell people in certain regards, do it, stop it. If we could do that, there was no need for Christ to go to the cross if we could weasel our way out of sin or be like, “I’m quitting that, I’m stopping that, I’m breaking that habit.” If it was that easy, why would God do something so drastic and send his son to the cross? People are state of being after Adam and Eve partook of that fruit God told them not to and sinned against God. Such that we needed nothing less than God Himself to clothe himself in the flesh, leave heaven, bankrupt it and come down here and bleed, be broken, crushed, bruise, humiliated, cursed and so many more things for our deliverance including death. It took all of that. Nothing less than that. God didn’t do that because He didn’t have anything else to do. God did that because He is loved.

That’s what love had to do. Love does what it has to do for the one that loves. That’s what God did because He had to. It took all of that. Maybe even things that have not yet been revealed to us what it calls God. I am wanting to follow the Holy spirit and do what He say, in that way, no one feels any pressure. I don’t want to jump right into letting go and letting God because that is a fruit of something. God wants to put this particular root in us about his love and the gift of righteousness that He conferred upon us because from it, the fruit that it will bear is shalom. That’s why one of the things Jesus said when He first rose from the grave to His disciples was shalom is peace.
He’s letting them look at the holes in his hands from the nails and saying, “Shalom.” That’s coming from somewhere. People can enter in peace. The Bible says the disciples were locked in that room for fear of the Jews. You come to that room and tell them, “Stop being so scary.” Good luck with that. God said perfect love cast out fear, not you repeatedly telling somebody to stop being scary. How’d that pan out for you the last time you were scared? How did it pan out when you were like, “I need to stop being scared?” It doesn’t work. We know what the problem is and reciting it doesn’t help. I’m acknowledging it is good because God told me He doesn’t help what people don’t acknowledge.
Acknowledging is good and necessary. Jesus went to that disciple, He’s like, “What do you want me to do for you?” He became His disciple to that blind man and He says, it was blind Bartimaeus, “Lord, I may receive my sight.” If he would have act like nothing was wrong, Jesus is coming to him with a blank check, “What can I do for you?” He’s like, “Do I look like I need your help.?” That wasn’t going to pan out well for the blind guy but this blind man humbled his self. You got a notepad, to get the writing it down but no, he didn’t. He let Jesus know this condition. Being blind is terrible Lord. If you can deliver me from it, heal me from it I’d be most grateful. He received his sight immediately. No process, no surgery, no glasses, no corrective lenses, just full blown 20/20 vision in an instant. Humility is a wonderful thing. We’ll look a little bit more into that too.
The Holy Spirit wanted us to camp park for a minute, slow down for a second and let God minister to and impart in us the root and then this letting go and letting God is not something we’re going to strive and struggle to do like, “Let me let go. I need to let go. Let’s let go. Remember let go and let God.” That’s some of the flesh, that’s born of the flesh. Nothing born of the flesh produces anything good. God said, “Have no confidence in the flesh and in the flesh dwells no good thing.” We don’t want to try to figure something out or do anything like that or try to develop a new habit. We’re not trying to do that. That’s the exact opposite of letting go and letting God. We are allowing God to work in us both to will and to do but we’re going to do it in an order that the Holy Spirit gave us so that it’s not this non-lasting human flesh effort that reeks of pride but it will be this everlasting work of the hands of almighty God who loves us. For Him, it’s easy and quite simple to do the things that we even feel are perplexing and dilemmas that simply can’t be solved. That’s what we’re going to do.
God told me by His spirit to start with this eternal truth about God’s heart concerning us. This is because to let go and let God is a posture of trust. It is faith in action. We as human beings, we need to know what our trust is in because the propensity of the flesh, which we are not but we have, is to doubt and it’s to fear. Doubt and fear, as we know, are robbers of things like trust, confidence in Christ, faith and rest, which God clearly wants us to enter into and remain in. Let’s start by remembering and for some even knowing for the first time that God’s heart towards us is a heart of perfect, unconditional, never failing, unending, eternal, all-powerful love towards us.
Let’s establish it once and for all and have it crystal clear. Let’s let it sink in by the spirit of God. Yes, you. Yes, me. Every you that’s reading, yes, God loves you deeply. This isn’t about God loving a crowd of people. God loves you. If you were the only one and that Christ went to the cross to die for, He had done it. If need be, He had done it again. It’s that simple, He loves you. If for you, He would have bled and died. He would have done that. Know that God loves you individually and don’t think of his love as this blanket love that sweeps over everybody.
God’s Love In His Gift Of His Righteousness
Let’s start with Jeremiah 31:3, which is what God showed me in his word. You never have to take my word for word in this show. May God continue to keep me and continue to have us glean from the scriptures because this is not about trusting me. This is about trusting the God who sent me. The word declares, in Jeremiah 31:3, “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love. Therefore, with loving kindness, I have drawn you.” God is saying yes. Why does He put the yes? I believe it’s because the devil tries to come and conscious tries to come and give us every reason why that is a no, no. God has all knowledge. God is all knowing. Knowing the end and the beginning, knowing what you did, what you’re doing and what you’re even going to do.

Here’s His eternal promise to you. “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love. Therefore, with loving kindness, have I drawn you, not under the threat of duress or judgment but with loving kindness, have I drawn you.” You don’t come to the father except through the son. No one gets to the son unless the father draws him. The fact that you’re reading this, God has drawn you in and God has called you and God is reaching out to you. With all these people in the world, he’s reaching out to you. With everything that’s going on, he’s reaching out to you. With hail being busy, it has no hobbies and can’t find anything good to watch on TV, God is reaching out to you. Yes, God loves you. God is drawing you. God wants you. God has a plan for you. That’s super important.
The Holy spirit took me to John 3:16 and 3:17, 3:16 may be familiar. I often feel like verse 17 is not emphasized as much as it should be. They both should be emphasized. You’ll probably know why but it says, “For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have ever lasting life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved.” That’s a dagger in the dark heart of the spirit of religion. My son, Zion always says, “You’re dead, dead.” The spirit of religion, you are dead, dead when God opens up this truth to us.
God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through Him would be saved. That’s quite contrary to what the spirit of religion has tried to beat us over the head with, telling us that the Holy spirit convicts you of your sins. I beg to differ for it is written. God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world but that through Him, we would be saved. If there’s conviction from the Holy Spirit, it would be convicting you of the love of God, the forgiveness of God, about all your trespasses and sins and also God’s grace and always willingness to be reconciled to you.
Look at the price he paid for that to be so. There’s never going to be a greater demonstration of the love of God than that, your only begotten son, I don’t know about you, mama and papa bears but if you got seven baby cubs around you, you’re not giving up one of them, let alone, if you only had one of them. For people who are blaspheming you, cursing you to your face, ungrateful to you, ready to condemn and judge you, you wouldn’t even give them up for somebody you love but somebody who’s cursing you and spitting in your face, redefining disrespect, that’s not a hard pill to swallow. That’s a high rise to swallow. The way you can’t get a high rise down your throat, you can’t swallow that one. Is it just me mama bear? Am I telling the truth? I’m speaking the truth but God is so good. God is love that He sent His only son to die for us and made it so easy for us to receive it.
Declaring that whoever believes in Him, not about what you do, it’s whoever believes in Him would not perish well, won’t bust hell wide open but it’ll be safe in every way in this life and in the one to come. The gospel is good news. Gospel is translated good news and its original language and indeed it is good news for sure. When reading this and I’m not taking anything from the word of God but I like to read it saying for God so loved me. You can put your name in there, put yourself in there. For God so loved me that he gave His only begotten son that when I believe in Him, I would not perish but have everlasting life.
God did not send his son into the world to condemn me but that through Him, I would be saved. This is the plan of God. This is when the real God stands up and speaks for itself. This is written. I don’t need your interpretation when it’s made plain like this. I may not understand everything but I understand this scripture. This one’s not complicated. I don’t need any Greek lexicons for this one. I got this one. For God so loved me that He gave His only begotten son for me. He didn’t send Him and He didn’t do all of this so that I would be condemned. He did all this so I would be saved. That’s sounds like love to me.
Let’s not rush through this but let us meditate soak up that God loves us. Let’s take a moment and remember the cost. What it costs God to remove the barrier that sin erected when Adam and Eve sinned and all of us, sin is in the blood, we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. What that cost was separation with God. That’s why when Jesus was on the cross after his death, the Bible says the veil was torn. Whatever was separating us from God was torn. What Jesus did on that cross is so powerful that the sin that once separated us from God is so paid for, rectified the problem by Jesus that God now abides and lives in us. God is Holy. He is not living in anything that’s not Holy. The Holy Spirit God calls a witness, He bears witness that Jesus has done a perfect work at that cross.
That perfect blood that was shed for you has you perfectly forgiven and in right standing with God. The Bible says you can’t undo what God did. When I fell, when I stumbled, when I make mistakes, even when I sin on purpose, I’ll be the first confess, I’m simply telling you I cannot, you cannot, the devil cannot, sin cannot render powerless what God did. That’s a crazy thought. To think otherwise is a crazy thought. Let’s not do that. Let’s not entertain what on the surface even don’t make sense. That makes no sense to me on the surface. I’m not going to entertain it. Won’t go any further than that but let’s look again at what it costs God. The Bible says in Romans 8:32 we saw in John 3 that is His only begotten son and His mama and papa bears, you can’t come take 1 out to 7 but you’re trying to take the only one I got? Like a bear robbed of his cubs. You haven’t seen nothing yet.
Bring something out of you, you didn’t know was in there. I thank God for the way He loves us, the depth of His love for us. He didn’t even stop when it was His only begotten son in whom He’s well pleased. This calls God everything. Romans 8:32 it says, “He who did not spare his own son but delivered Him up for us all. How shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” Remembering what it costs God, remembering how big of a price He paid. He paid the most he could pay. No greater love than this than the one who would lay down his life for his friends.
The greatest demonstration of God’s love towards you is finished already. That’s happened already. Inclusive in that, God freely given us all things is what I’m telling you people. When we pray, no matter how important it is, no matter how dire the circumstance is, no matter how heavy we feel, the burden, no matter what the consequences could possibly be. We have to know that if God would not spare His own son and whom He’s well pleased to help us, save us, deliver us and to tear down that barrier we erected when we sin, what is it to answer the other prayer?
When we slow down, when we pull over and put the car in park and we turn the TV off, take a minute and slow down and meditate on these life-given truths. If you gave up your child for me, what is it then if I ask you like, “Can you help with a financial issue?” Of course, you will. Not of course you can but of course you will. If you’re willing to do all of that, what’s this lesser stuff? I know that things are important to be prayed for. The things you’re praying for are important, I believe that. With everything in me I believe that. It doesn’t matter if you are praying for something simple, you’re like, “God, I want 2 inches off my waist.” What they think is simple, “God, I wish that my hair was full. God, I wish that this pimple would go away.”
You get something like, “God, heal my child and get them out of the hospital.” The whole spectrum, if it matters to you, it matters to God. I believe I want what God wants. That’s for all of us, you and me, to take a moment and think about what it cost Him. What did it cost Him? It cost Him everything. Before we could pray, before we could touch and agree, before we could sing a worship song, before we can do warfare in prayer, before we can ban or lose anything, before we could say, “Let me believe. Let me must up some faith. Come on God. I believe you. I believe in the created, I receive it.”
I’m not saying that’s wrong. I’m simply saying let’s get back to the rest and this anointing of ease that God has used. My yoga is easy, my burden is light. Let’s get back to easy and light. Let’s be real. The truth is before we did all of that, before we even knew what that was, God had already given us His best as a free gift. If you didn’t charge me for that, if I didn’t have to earn that then I need to stop, cease and quit all the performing to try to get you to answer a lesser need. If I didn’t have to pay you for that, for the greatest thing, I suppose I don’t have to pay by performance, good deeds or charitable deeds or trying to dot I’s and cross T’s for anything else. I could take a real rest. It is finished. This is crazy good.
This is good news. The gospel is good news. It’s important for us to take time and to do that and to remember the Holy Spirit gave me something else to remember again what it costs God. To remove that barrier of sin but this one is found in 2 Corinthians 5:21 and God did this. This enables God to love us freely the way He desires to love us. God is love. The Bible says that for He made Him who knew sin to be sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. This is a heavy price. God gave up His son. The highest praise. The greatest Thanksgiving. The greatest demonstration of gratitude towards God has been, is and always will be simply receiving the gifts He’s given us.
The Lesser In The Greater
We start by receiving Jesus Christ, the son of the living God, who has done everything for us already and then receiving those things that we need on a daily basis. The daily bread, wisdom for that day, divine protection for that day, any deliverance that’s needed for that day or our family, financial provision for that day. All our human needs. Our hearts desires for that day. The grace of God that’s sufficient for that time. Strength if we need it. Faith if we need it. All of it. Every good thing comes from God. God is the only one that’s good. Jesus is God in the flesh. To sum up what I’m trying to say, the lesser, no matter how important it is, is always included in the greater. For God to give us His son not only removed all of our sins and not only removed that barrier that separated us from God and not only reconciled us in our rebellion back to God, which God wanted. That was God’s idea. God sent His only son.

He didn’t send it after we prayed. None of us even knew we had that need. He did that. The Bible says the lamb of God was slain before the foundations of the world. It is not about touching and agreeing and all of that. That’s good and it has this place and we should do it. I want us to do it out of a place of rest and out of a place of knowing it is finished and a place of knowing that God’s language of love is giving. I’m not wrestling a blessing from God. I’m not trying to convince Him. I’m not trying to persuade Him. I’m not trying to manipulate Him. I’m receiving from Him. God says He answers our prayers before we open our mouth to speak. You don’t get any better than that.
Love the gospel truths. I want to stop there because I felt from the Holy Spirit, get all of this in you first before letting me blast what I have for you as far as letting go and letting God. To let Him put these roots in us first and establish us in His love and in the righteousness and the righteous foundation upon which we stand when we petition God. Let’s let Him do that. Even our prayer and our faith then will be the fruit of His spirit, which is what God wants us to live. Jesus is divine. We are the branches, everything that is produced is supposed to be a work of God doing it in through us is supposed to be the fruit of God’s spirit, the fruit of God’s love, the fruit of his work in us and through us, not the struggle is real. That’s a no-no for the Christian.
The struggle is not real because you shouldn’t be struggling. That’s honest. God is good and I love you all. I can’t wait to dive in again with you and go through this whole series. It’s on time and it’s timeless. Until then, I love you so much. God continue to bless you and keep you and make His face shine upon you and cover you with the blood of His son, Jesus. I pray that God gives us all a continual meditation of His love. I pray that God open our eyes to see even the fruit of what Jesus did in our everyday lives. We live extraordinary, not ordinary lives and nothing’s mundane. These are the days the Lord has made. Now pray. We smile and rejoice and be exceedingly glad in them. We will see the heart and the hand of God in our everyday lives. In Jesus name, I pray. I love you all.
