It’s A Family Affair (Part 7)

We’re going to be continuing on but still not finishing up our series title, A Family Affair. Before we get into that, let’s pray and acknowledge God like we always do. I thank you, Heavenly Father, for this opportunity to get at the feet of your Son, Jesus, and to hear Him. I pray that you give to each and every one of us the spirit of wisdom, revelation and the knowledge of Jesus. Let the eyes of our understanding be enlightened that we may know what the hope of His calling is, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power towards us who believe according to the working of His mighty power.

I ask you, Lord Jesus, to expound on the scriptures to us about the things concerning yourself. I pray your Holy Spirit to go to work in us, for us and through us. I pray that you cause us to comprehend the scriptures more. I ask you, Heavenly Father, that for every blessing, benefit and promise, God, that you have made concerning the benefits of getting to know you more.

Be our portion, both now and forevermore. I pray that manifestations of answers to prayers, desires of the heart, even those things, we weren’t bold enough to even ask for. I thank you that they will realize, God, even now as we’re sitting at the feet of Jesus and we are realizing who He is. We’re seeing His heart. I thank you, God, that as we see His heart, His hand is going to work on our behalf. We know that one touch from you, God, one move from you, one word from you is more than enough. I thank you for more than enough being our portion for us and our whole house in Jesus’s name.

If you’ve been with us on this journey, you know our key scripture comes from Acts 16:30-31. It says, “He brought them out and said, ‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They said, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your household.’” We established very early on in this series, I believe at the onset, that the word of God is the will of God. The Bible says, “When you pray the will of God, you know that He hears you and you know that you have what you’re asking for.”

How do you know what the will of God is? The will of God is His word. We see from Acts 16:30-31, it’s God’s will to save you and your entire household. It’s a family affair. That’s the heart of God. The Holy Spirit laid this unshakeable foundation for us based on the truth of God’s word. That’s the only thing that can’t be shaken. It’s the only sure guarantee. It will never fail like He’s done with other series here. We started out with that particular scripture. John, we got the scripture where it says, “This is the confidence that we have in him.” If we ask anything, according to his will, He hears us. If we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. That comes out of 1 John 5.

Those are the basis and the premises from which the Holy Spirit springs this or builds upon this revelation that it’s God’s heart for the entire family to be saved. I’ve run into many believers throughout the years, decades even, and it’s their deep desire. God is coming to let us know based on the certainty of His word that it’s His heart for your family to be saved as well.

God chooses not to lose one. We began looking, starting in Genesis, the Book of Beginnings. We saw how God was saying in the beginning, “Let us make man our image and our likeness.” It’s plural. He was talking. He’s God the Father and God the Son, and that speaks of family. Not only that, when God began creation as far as mankind is concerned, He started off with the husband and a wife.

We know God, this is the first relationship. He didn’t do a mother and a father. Think about it. God is all-powerful. He could have done it any sort of way. Eve was taken from Adam’s side. It’s symbolic of Christ on the cross when the blood in the water came out. It’s so important that we realize that not only what God does is significant, but the order He does it in is equally important. All of it is relevant. Everything, like Jesus said, “Every tittle.”

This whole word of God is relevant. Even the punctuation, the order it appears in and all of it. He mentioned things that are not mentioned. It’s all intentional. God is very intentional. He’s a God of purpose and we’re a people of purpose, and so we’re seeing that God purposed Himself. When the Holy Spirit pinned this through man, this book of life that we call the Bible, He did so in a particular order. He began by man and woman as husband and wife. This is very significant for those who are praying for their spouses to be saved, not only those praying for their spouses to be saved but those who are praying that their spouses will have an intimate relationship with God.

It is one thing to be saved and you’re safe from hell. You’re born again for sure, but it’s another thing to partake in the fullness of that access that gives you to God. By grace through faith that we’ve been saved in this grace in which we stand and we have access to God. This intimate relationship that we can have with Him and inherit the fullness of our inheritance in the earth, even as it is in heaven. Not later in the sweet by and by, but right now when you need it. When other people need your miracle maybe even more than you do.

These things are important. The order is important. God chose marriage and God is for marriage. We talked about how when Jesus began His ministry, and He did His first miracle. It was at a wedding and He did it for a married couple, turning the water into wine. You see in Genesis, the first relationship is a married couple. Jesus begins His ministry and that commences. He does His first miracle, which is in the Book of John, and it’s saying that that book is a Book of Signs.

TOT 114 | God And Family
God And Family: It is the perfect will of God that both you and your whole family are saved, therefore, declare with confidence, “As for me and my house, we shall be saved and serve the Lord in Jesus name!”

Jesus performed this. He illustrated and demonstrated His power. He’s not just a man at this wedding. This is God in the flesh that showed up at your wedding, and has turned the water into wine, and He did it for a married couple. Marriage is very important to God, but we see that first. It was in the beginning. It was the word and the word was with God, and so you see them.

That’s first and foremost, and I would dare to believe that next comes marriage. This is the order that God went in. God is mindful of your marriage, your spouse, and those who are praying not only that someone will be saved, but that they will have an intimate relationship with God. Embrace their purpose, fulfill their destiny and inherit the fullness of their inheritance. Jesus is not just a savior but He’s also Lord. He governs their lives and their decisions, He leads them and guides them. That’s going beyond being saved.

It’s the true fullness of what God wants for us here on the Earth. God has an agreement with you. You know that that’s the will of God. It is the word of God. It’s also very important to God. It’s one of the top priorities beneath your relationship with God. Marriage is a reflection of your relationship with God. That’s holy and sacred, your relationship with God. God believes that marriage is holy and it also is sacred. It’s interesting when God unveils himself to us like this and He shows us the heart of His son. We can pray with boldness and confidence knowing that it’s God’s will and He hears us. We’re not praying amiss. We’re spot on.

If this is darts, we’re hitting the bullseye target at this point. That brings about confidence. You can have a confident expectation of good and knowing that this is the heart of God and it’s important to you and him. It was important to Him before you even asked Him, before you had a problem. This was the provision that God had His word because you can stand on His word. You can believe His word and know that He will perform every promise He made.

The Bible says, “All the promises of God are yes and in Christ, they are Amen to the glory of God.” We’re not going to argue with that. We’re going to go roll with that. Yes, God, be it unto me according to your word like Mary did. She gave birth without ever even knowing a man. We’re going to roll with that faith like she gave birth to God Himself. That’s pretty impressive faith. I want to try to be like her when I grow up. You hear me say that often in a joking manner, but that’s pretty amazing faith.

We looked at Noah in the previous episode and we saw how God established His covenant with Noah. God was saying that the world was basically, as they knew it, coming to an end. A great flood was coming. There was great wickedness and deformity in such a way that demons had slept with people and given birth to giants. It was disgusting. God was going to send His son through the human race. Obviously, He had to be born a man, even as our kinsmen’s redeemer.

It’s a very important plan of God is to save us all, and they were messing it up, to say the least. Noah’s family was without that. They had not participated in that. Thank God, and God was able to save not just Noah but the human race even as we know it and accomplish His purpose through Christ by what He did in the days of that flood. We thank God for that. It looked like doom and gloom but it was the mercy of God. Here we are now, born again and saved, and Jesus came through pure blood, sinless blood and perfect blood. That’s the only thing that could have washed the way all of our sins.

We’re grateful for that but it’s interesting that God was saying He established His covenant with Noah. He addressed Noah. He gave Noah the instructions, the blueprint for the ark, even shared with Noah what He was about to do. God has a covenant with Noah. Noah has this intimate relationship with God. It makes no mention of his family having such a relationship or covenant with him, but the heart of God is not to just save you. It’s to save you and your household like we saw in Acts.

Even though God had established His covenant with Noah, He tells him, “You’re going into the ark but wait, you, your sons, your wife and even your son’s wives, in-laws, bring them in.” God wants to save them all. Obviously, He does. He came into the ark and God told Him in Chapter 7, “Come into the ark, you and all your household because I’ve seen that you are righteous.”

It’s amazing that the heart of God finds a way through that one believer in a family to reach out through prayer, believing and coming in agreement to standing on the word of God and ends up saving that whole house. Your role is very important. I know it can sometimes feel like a lonely one if you are the only one in the family serving God, but you will see the salvation of the Lord as Nicodemus did. Salvation has come to the house. It’s come to your house like you’re the temple of God, but it’s come to your whole house.

God is very strategic. His presence is in you. He is the light of the world and the salt of the Earth and that light is shining on your family. Believe that God is at work in you, for you and for your family. He has the legal right to do so through you, so continue to pray and believe God. You will see the fruit of that because this is truly the heart of God. We got towards the end of it and saw that Noah was saved, but not only Noah but his entire family.

TOT 114 | God And Family
God And Family: We have access to God, this intimate relationship that we can have with him and inherit the fullness of our inheritance in the earth, even as it is in heaven.

We then picked up from there and started to discuss the children of Israel when they had been held captive for hundreds of years in Egypt. The Pharaoh of that time was a very proud, arrogant and nasty Pharaoh. He was a harsh taskmaster to say the very least. Just the definition of oppression and seriously, he was like a picture of Satan. What our role to play in the movie called life. You want to pick up a role, you may not want to pick up Satan’s script, “I’ll pass.”

Pharaoh didn’t pass. He picked up the script and played the role to the T like somebody get him an Oscar. He was very evil towards these people and their children. It didn’t matter. Women, he didn’t care. He was the devil in the flesh. He was very harsh on them. I love how it talks about earlier on Exodus 3 how God saw. He’s like, “I saw their tears. I’ve heard their prayers and cries and I’ve come down.” This is about to get very serious. God has heard and seen, and He didn’t send even a Legion of angels. He came Himself. Pharaoh, you’re going to need more than prayer at this point. God is coming as Himself and He’s got a bone to pick with you for picking on His children like that. Don’t you love the fact that the Bible says, “Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever?”

Anybody out there feeling picked on or messed over, what happens when your God comes down? I wouldn’t want to be the one that picked on you or messed over you. That’s for certain because God changes not. Most of us know probably what happened at the end of that story, and none of us would have wanted to be fair. Even if He was an Olympic swimmer, there was no coming back from what happened to Him and everyone around Him that was in on the foolishness.

We’re going to start in Chapter 12 a little bit. We’re backing up a tiny bit because we’re recapping. I know it’s been a week and so much can happen in a week. It’s so much good. We’re not expecting anything bad. It says, “Speak to all the congregation of Israel saying, ‘On the tenth of this month, every man shall take for himself a lamb according to the house of His father.’” We establish how the household represents family. The Bible says, “If the household was too small, join with your neighbor.” We talked a bit about how God’s heart is not to lose one. This is your family and even your friends. Let’s be honest. Sometimes you have friends and the Bible even says they stick closer than a brother.

You’re closer to them than you are maybe to a natural blood family. Jesus defined family. He created the family and He said, “My family is the one doing the will of God.” He would best define it since He created it. We know this lamb is a shadow of Jesus Christ. He’s the actual substance. He’s the lamb of God. God gave them instructions not just to get any lamb but to get a young lamb, without blemish and a male. Jesus was young. He clearly was without sin. He was a male. It said the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel was to kill it at twilight. This was a dark time, representing a very serious dark time.

When Jesus died and all the sin of the world was on Him, He separated from God so that we could be forever with God so much so that God indwells us and we live in Him. That was a pretty dark time. It’s amazing how God can bring such light out of such darkness. I suppose no matter what you’re facing, no matter how dark it is, it’s the same God that turned the crucifixion of the son of God in the flesh into the greatest demonstration of love, salvation, grace, favor, holiness like redemption. Everything good comes from that. It looked worse than a hoarse saying, “No man was marred as He was.” It says in the Book of Isaiah.

God is able to take any mess and turn it into a miracle. That showed the epitome of man’s evil. How evil we are without God that we would crucify God Himself. That’s crazy. With that being said, God can bring such light out of any darkness. If He did it then, anything else is lesser than that. The lesser included in the greater as I always say. It said that they killed at twilight the lamb. They took some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts of the house. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen a picture of that. I wouldn’t tell you to Google anything, but if you’ve ever seen a picture of that, it looks like the cross. Again, God was pointing to His son and they were to put this blood on the doorpost of the house that they were in on the outside of the door.

God was saying, “When He passes over, He’s going to see this blood.” We know the blood of Jesus without the shedding of blood. There’s no forgiveness of sin. All of this is pointing to Jesus Christ. This whole initial Passover. Everyone that’s been celebrated thereafter was all God pointing to His son, Jesus Christ. The true substance of all of this and what He would do for us. It tells us this in several verses, but I picked 2 Revelations 13. It says, “The Lamb of God was slain before the foundation of the world.” You have that lamb that they picked and before the foundation of the world, God was calling His son His lamb.

I don’t know if you remember in Genesis 22 when Abraham went up Mt. Moriah to offer his son Isaac as a sacrifice. If you notice, Isaac spoke to his father Abraham. It’s around Verse 7. He said, “Dad, we’ve got the wood and fire for the offering. Where’s the lamb? We’re missing the lamb that we usually sacrifice.” That question was asked and later answered in John 129. John the Baptist came in and said that he saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Behold the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” Jesus is this lamb without blemish that was young and a male.

Let’s pick up now in Verse 8, it says, “They shall eat the flesh on that night roasted in the fire with unleavened bread and with bitter herbs, they shall eat it. Do not eat it raw nor boiled at all with water but roasted in the fire, its head with its legs and entrails. You shall let none of it remains until morning. What remains of it until morning, you shall burn with fire, and thus you shall eat it with a belt on your waist, sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. You shall eat it in haste. It’s the Lord’s Passover.”

In other words, be ready because God has come down to deliver you and God is delivering you right now. Get ready because right now is your deliverance time. It’s great news for people who had suffered the way that they had and for the length of time that they had. God has come now to deliver you and He do it when they had Passover. We know Passover is a picture of the Lord’s supper and communion. Imagine the power in remembering Jesus and having communion. The Bible says, “When you do this, you proclaim my death until I come.” Jesus said. It’s very powerful because we see the power of God demonstrated under this shadow. Jesus Christ and communion is the substance.

TOT 114 | God And Family
God And Family: Believe that God is at work for you and your family. He has the legal right to do so through you. So continue to pray and believe God, and you will see the fruit out of that.

How much more should we see the power of God manifest it and manifest it like this. Be ready because the manifestation is happening now. Glory to God for the holy communion and for Jesus Christ, the son of God, who is the true Passover lamb.  It says in Verse 12, “I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night and we’ll strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast, and against all the gods of Egypt, I will execute judgment.”

Let me say it again, “Against all the gods of Egypt, I will execute judgment.” I am the Lord. This is great. Somebody should pause and say, “God, fight for me. Lord, fight for me in Jesus’s name.” A simple prayer like, “Lord, fight for me.” It looks to me when God fights for you, the enemies you saw yesterday, you see again no more. You can even search them out and you can’t find them. That’s pretty good deliverance if you ask me.

It says in Verse 13, “Now the blood shall be assigned for you on the houses where you are. When I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.” That one verse has so much richness in it. God is saying that He sees the inequity of the people in the house, but when He sees the blood of an animal lamb, signifying and symbolic of Jesus Christ pointing us to Jesus Christ. A picture of Jesus Christ but not the very substance. “When I see that blood,” and even though the people inside of the house have sinned.

God said, “If any man says He sees without it, he’s a liar.” We know lying is a sin. We got them on that one if nothing else. Seriously, these people had sin in their lives. Think about it. It’s a whole family. Somebody in there is guilty. God says I don’t see any of that. I see the blood. How much more does the blood of Jesus Christ, the true lamb of God? God picked the lamb. He sent the people back then, “You go choose a lamb, young without blemish, etc.” God picked the real lamb before the foundations of the world. If a man can choose and get out of it, I’m certain there that when God chooses, it’s perfect and there will be no judgment from God against you or your house.

This is great news, people. This whole verse is worth shouting over like cartwheels. Don’t hurt yourself. Seriously, it makes you want to do cartwheels. I love how this blood is not just on the person that’s faithful and closest to God. It’s not just on the person that attends church regularly, but it’s on the whole house. Your whole house is getting saved. If a neighbor is in that house, God is saving them all. This is outstanding. He said, “When I see this blood, I’m going to pass over you.” I love how God makes the difference between Israel and Egypt.

We’re like this Israel now, the church. We’re the people of God now and we’re the children of God. I absolutely love how He says, “No plague is going to be on you. No destruction is going to be on you or your house.” There is judgment and destruction outside. No doubt about it, but we got to stand on that particular verse in Psalm 91, “A thousand may fall at my side and a myriad in my right hand, but it shall not come near me. Only with my eyes do I look and see the reward of the wicked. You made the Lord who is my refuge even the most higher dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling.”

There’s the household again. We are the temple of God. We are the house of God, but not just us. God’s heart is to save our whole family, and that’s exactly what He did for them. As I said, as the shadow had been believed in, meditated on, and partaken of, how much more will He do with the actual substance? That’s us, the church. This is who God was pointing to then. The blood is the blood of Jesus.

That’s what we do when we’re praying. That’s warfare right there. I plead the blood of Jesus. I’m going to rest and let the blood of Jesus fight. The blood of Jesus speaks better things. If He was speaking and defending a dead man representing like when that happened with Cain and Abel, how much greater is the substance, the blood of Jesus speaking for me right now. Let the blood of Jesus defend me. He’s Christ is my righteousness. I’ve closed myself in Him as He is so am I in this world. Good luck with accusing me because you’re accusing Him. I don’t know what to tell you on how that’s going to pan out. I don’t think it’s going to pan out well.

Let’s skip down to Verse 29 through 30 and it says, “It came to pass at midnight.” This is significant as well that it was midnight. There we are again at twilight and midnight. These are very dark times that the Lord struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt. From the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon. From the highest to the lowest. From the East to the West. God didn’t miss a mark.

Here’s a powerful prayer, “God, I’m not going to fight. You fight for me. God, you defend me. Let the blood of Jesus be my defense.” If your enemy says you pray like that, that’s scary. That’s taking up a position of humbling yourself and exalting God as who He is, and He is the man of war. We saw that in Exodus and throughout the Bible. Let God fight for you if that’s what you need for sure. It says in Verse 30, “Pharaoh arose in the night, He, all his servants and all the Egyptians. There was a great cry in Egypt for there was not a house where there was not at least one dead. God is not playing with people who play with you. That’s crystal clear.

In Verse 51, it says, “It came to pass on that very same day.” Hallelujah. Didn’t God tell them to eat in haste? Have your belt on, your sandals and be ready. God has come down to deliver you, people. God has eyes. He made the eyes. He already sees the affliction. Have you so much as even groaned? The Bible says the children of Israel groaned. God said, “I’ve heard their cries.” That’s not even a prayer that’s very articulate. It’s a groan. That’s a complaint so deep that you can’t even get words out. He is like, “Ouch, God.” It’s one of those kinds of things. It sounded like a woman in labor. You can’t even get any words out and the groan reached the throne. With that being said, I’m telling you, I wouldn’t want to be an enemy of the bride of Christ.

That’s the real definition of insanity. We see that God heard them and He came down. This is what happens when He comes down to defend. Be ready because you have even groan towards God. He has seen and heard you. There is nothing left, except He comes down to deliver you. You get delivered and the Egyptians get slain. That’s pretty much how that pans out. I would want to congratulate you now on your deliverance because it’ll be a miraculous one. I want to encourage you to stay ready. If you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready.

TOT 114 | God And Family
God And Family: The love of God and his absolute desire is to save you and your house is real. Believe in the goodness of God, provision and His transformation in your life.

It says, “It came to pass on that very same day. The Lord brought ‘the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt according to their armies.’” We see that God didn’t deliver 1 or 2 people, whoever was the closest to him, whoever prayed, whoever attended and is active in leadership in ministry. Did God save those people? Yes. I’m sure there were people like priests. God brought Aaron out amongst them. He was using Moses and it would seem like Moses, the great prophet, and look at Aaron, right beside Moses going to Pharaoh.

You can tell they’re men of God and they’re right in front of everybody to see these are real leaders. They’re hearing from God. God talks to them and they talk back to God. Other people, the Bible says they ain’t pray to God. They just said they were groaning. They cried and groaned. The same God delivered Moses and Aaron, these priests walking in the will of God, fulfilling their purpose, walking in their destiny and fulfill the ones that couldn’t get anything out but a groan. Perhaps they didn’t read the scrolls and didn’t know the scripture but they can cry. They can say, “Ouch.” They were able to get an ouch out.

They got that out and they got out like Moses and Aaron. God is very good. Even where there’s a fault, the love of God covers a multitude of sins. God is beautiful. His heart is not just one of love. God is love, and His absolute desire is to save you and your house from the least of them to the greatest of them. He moved that way in judgment, and from the least of them to the greatest of them. For His people, He moved that way in love.

There’s no more judgment left for the world from God now. If people don’t accept Jesus, they’ve judged themselves in a sense. That in and of itself is condemnation. It’s not coming from God. It’s coming from their decision to reject Jesus and he’s the only way to the father, so they’ve closed the door on the only way. That in and of itself is judgment. That’s not judgment from God. That is what it is.

If it’s a doctor willing to save your life and you say, “I’m opting out of the treatment. I’m not doing it.” We can’t say the doctor harm you or the doctor judged you. The doctor didn’t. The doctor was willing and able. The patients said, “I reject that offer and that help.” Those were the consequences that stem from it, death. The wages of sins is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. If there’s anybody reading now who’s never made Jesus the Lord of their life, I would like to ask you to pray with me and to take this opportunity to do it because not only is God ready to save you.

The Bible says, “Now is the time of salvation.” This is the acceptable time. Now is the day of salvation. Not only that, but God also wants to make your life very fruitful. He wants to bless you. God wants to show you His goodness now. He will show you His goodness in heaven forevermore and it will be uninterrupted by anything bad, but God is good right now. God wants to be with you right now. He wants to bless you right now. He wants your earthly life to reflect your heavenly life that He’s gone before you and prepared. He wants to do that.

When people see your life, they too will want to be saved because of the goodness of God and His provision, love and transformation in your life. God loves you. He has no judgment for you but He has a love for you. The Bible says, “If you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, believe that God raised Him up from the dead, that He’s the son of God who has died for the forgiveness of all of your sins. You shall be saved.”

Pray with me. Heavenly Father, I thank you for your son, Jesus. I thank you, God, for His death, burial and resurrection. It was for the forgiveness of my sins, and you have also cleansed me from all unrighteousness, and you have made Him my righteousness. I ask you and invite you, Lord Jesus, to be both my Lord and my savior. Bless me, God, with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places and calls my life to be a reflection of your love, goodness, power and provision.

They will provoke people to be saved. They will say, “What must I do to be saved? I want the heavenly father you have. Do it for me also, Lord.” In Jesus’s name, we pray. I love you all. Talk to you soon. We’re going to pick up, take our time, and go through this because this is one of the main things on the heart of God. I believe in God. What I felt when He introduced this series to me was. It’s in the heart of a lot of His people.

God has come to minister this to you. It’s not just the words spoken obviously through me, but it’s words of life and it’s even prophetic. God is also showing us what He’s doing. God has come down to deliver, save and defend. With that being said, God bless, keep and protect you, and may you see the deliverance of God even this day in the Earth, even as it is in heaven, in Jesus’s name. I love you, guys.
