It’s A Family Affair (Part 5)
We’re going to be continuing with our series titled It’s A Family Affair. This is something near and dear to the heart of almost every human being. It’s certainly near and dear to the heart of God, always and forevermore and in times past. Before we get into what God has for us, let’s take a moment and do what we always do, and that is acknowledged God and pray.
I thank you, Heavenly Father, for the opportunity to get at the feet of your Son, Jesus, and to hear Him. I thank you, Lord, that He is the author and the finisher of the faith in us. I thank you that He is your very power at work in us. I pray that you will give to each and every one of us the spirit of wisdom, revelation and the knowledge of Jesus. Let the eyes of our understanding being enlightened like never before, that we may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance and us, the saints, what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe according to the working of His mighty power.
I thank you, Lord Jesus, that you are working in us via the hearing of your word, both to will and to do for your good pleasure. You are opening the scriptures to us about the things concerning yourself. We are on a road of Emmaus with you, Lord. I thank you that you give us the revelation we need of your son, the revelation we need of Jesus that causes breakthroughs in the very area that you know your people need. In Jesus’ name, we pray.
I hope you guys are ready to hear more of what God has to say about what is so near and dear to our hearts as human beings, and that is our family. The key scripture comes out of Acts 16: 30-31. It says, “And He brought them out and said, ‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’ They said, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your household.’”
We began this series laying a foundation by the spirit of God, with the word of God. It’s the only thing that can and will never fail. If there’s anything you want to put your trust in, it would be in the word of God. That’s not coming back void or empty. God is His word. That’s like God is failing, and that’s an impossibility. When we say, “The word of God never fails,” you can say it interchangeably. The word of God never fails, as well as God never fails.
We know that God will never fail you. We’re laying our foundation with this series, this entire show on the very unfailing, solid sound everlasting, almighty word of almighty God. Not my word but His. I don’t even need my word or counsel. I need His. I’m going to give you His because it’s what you need and it’s what I need too.
We began with this truth. This is an on-time word but it’s a timeless word. It was already true. Some of us are awakening to it, being reminded of it. What have you? Being strengthened in it and it will always be the truth. God’s heart is one for our entire family. It’s not just us. People have been born again, giving their life to Christ, but all of us. “God chooses not to lose one,” the Bible says. He hopes that all will come to the saving grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Not just one, two or most but all. God is not willing that any should perish. We saw that God so loved the world.
It doesn’t matter what religion people say they’re in. It doesn’t matter how they dress. It doesn’t matter what choices they make. It doesn’t matter what sexual preferences they have. God loves us all. He desires us all. The more, the merrier is God’s heart. His love is more than enough that swallows up our failings. His mercy is more than enough to erase, remake mistakes, and turn them into miracles. There’s nothing you’ve done, you’ll ever do, or you’ll fail to do that will outdo the grace of God.
God is grace. Jesus is grace personified. God’s grace and His mercy are more than enough for any of the mistakes we’ve made collectively. He loved the world and sent His son for the world. It’s not one or two people, not the goody two shoes but for all of us, every single one of us, the good, the bad and even the ugly. God loves us all. The gospel is good news. We began with that truth. It’s the heart of God for our whole entire family to be saved.
Confidence In God
We were talking a bit about when you know something is the word of God, this is when you can rest on that promise. This is when you can have a full-blown assurance of faith that for sure, God’s going to do what you’re asking Him to do. As a matter of fact, to be more accurate, God’s going to do above and beyond what you’re asking Him to do. God over answers prayers. We saw in 1 John 5:14-15, “Now, this is the confidence that we have in Him. That if we ask for anything according to His will, He hears us. If we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”

I love how it starts. “This is the confidence that we have in Him.” He is His word. This is the confidence that we have in His word. I’m giving you the word of God. I tell people, “These are not inspirational messages, although you’ll be inspired.” I’m not a motivational speaker, although you should be motivated after you’ve heard it. If you have an open heart to hear God, you should be very motivated, but this is the unfailing truth. It’s not my opinion.
I’m not trying to encourage you along or cheer you up. I’m telling you and I’m pointing you to the solid rock Jesus Christ who never fails, who doesn’t lie and can’t lie. It’s impossible for Him to fail you. I just want you to put your life and your family on the solid foundation of His word, the unshakeable, unbreakable, everlasting, all-powerful word of God.
I’m for you and I’m for your family. More importantly, God is. If God is for you, who can successfully be against you. No one and no thing, including yourself. That’s the good news. The other part was good news. The really good news is that God will even save us from ourselves. That’s the best news ever. You’ve cheered up already. I know. I even feel it. I’m cheered up.
We saw how the first divine relationship on the scene is God, the Father, the Son, His son, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. We see that the heart of God has always been for family. It always has been the Father and the Son. God is so pleased with Him. He’s so pleased with us. We’re in Christ. This is what it means to be in Christ, to be one with Christ.
You’re not separate and apart as He is, so are we in this world. That’s one identity. That’s why when you find Christ, you find you because we’re one. There is no separation. There is no difference in the sight of God and God sees accurately. God sees truthfully. We’re in this world, broken even as I speak. It can blur the vision. Let’s just trust God’s vision and His sight. He sees perfectly and accurately all the time, every time. He is our eyes. We walk by faith and not by sight. He shows us the truth through the eyes of faith. It’s wonderful.
We saw the first human relationship when God made Adam and Eve. God was saying, “It wasn’t good that man should be alone.” This was very telling for me because when God gave me this, He showed me something. If it’s God who showed me this, He certainly isn’t being irreverent towards Himself. God showed me that Adam was there but God the Father, the Son, His Holy Spirit were there. He hovered over the Earth. They were there. God had angels there. He had created things for Adam’s and our enjoyment in the garden of Eden. Those possessions were even there. Livestock, possessions, and animals, something to eat, tend to. Adam had a job. He named the animals like career was there. He’s a success at it. There was no competition. That was a terrible joke but anyway, you’ll get it later.
Family
He did that. God did that for him. When He saw Adam without a human family, God said, “It is not good for man to be alone.” That’s so telling. When God opened my eyes so that, I’m like, “That’s been there the whole time.” Sometimes the spirit of religion is like, “As long as I’ve got God, I don’t need anybody else.” I get what you mean by that but God called us to be the body of Christ. Family is the perfect ordained wheel of God.
These words are eternal. He’s never taken it back. It’s not good for a man to be alone. Don’t shoot the messenger. God said it. I didn’t. I’m just going to roll with Him. If any other scripture be the truth, that one is too. It’s the same God who uttered the words and God said, “It’s not good.” Being a loner is not good. God said it. I didn’t. As I said, “Don’t shoot the messenger.”
Taking time alone and some people date themselves, things like that. That’s great. That’s wonderful. I’ll go to the spa and the movies by myself sometimes. It’s just me and Jesus. Now, I’m more than content with this. At other times, I’m like, “Come on, let’s go. Let’s roll.” You need that. You want your family around you, most times for me.
God is right. It’s not good for a man to be alone. He made Adam a helpmate, and interestingly enough, He made Him a wife. This is for married people right here. If you’ve been on the fence about whether or not God hears your prayers concerning marriage. “Does God care? Where is God if things have gotten out of control?” God is not the source. He’s not the one behind the pain and the troubles but He is the one who’s for marriage.
If you’re praying to God in the name of Jesus, you are on a victorious track already. You’re already standing on solid victory ground. Don’t be moved. Like it says in Psalms 46, “God is in her midst, she will not be moved.” That’s your only thing to do is to stand. Stand therefore like in Ephesians 5 or 6, “That’s your position, beloved. Know and have the confidence that this is the will of God.” We know the word of God is the will of God.

God said, “It’s not good for man to be alone.” When He fixed the problem, He fixed it with marriage. He gave him a wife. God does things and it’s good. Every good and perfect gift comes from above. God is for family. We looked at how God blessed Adam and Eve saying, “Be fruitful and multiply.” Not to just even have one child but to multiply.
We saw it in Psalms 1:27, “Children are a heritage from the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is a reward.” Literally, God calls it a reward and He cannot lie. Your children are a blessing. God is more concerned than you are even capable of being about your sons and daughters. Have your wrists in even your prayers. Even as you may see things needing to be fixed, you may see someone out of place or outside of what you know God has for them. Know that God works all things together for the good of those who love them. God will work in them.
He will first love them, and then in response to that, they’ll love Him. God knows what He’s doing. He is the savior after all. The savior knows how to save, even saving us from ourselves. I promise you, that’s the best news I’ve said so far during this series. That’s what people who keep it real. It’s not always the devil. Sometimes it’s like, “Should I bind me?” This is good news. The gospel is good news and God is good. He loves us, mistakes and all.
Noah
We’re going to look at Noah. I’m giving you what God gave me concerning His heart for not just us, but for our entire family. That they’d be safe, that we’d be in harmony and peace, that we’d be a reflection of God, the Father, and the Son. They’re so united that they’re one. They’re not in strife, bickering or at odds with one another. They’re in perfect harmony and perfect unison all the time.
It’s not for us to try to make that happen. We are incapable of making that happen. There are plenty of people now that had gone on before us that wanted their families like that and didn’t have the power to do it. Your power lies in your prayer and your faith in the God you’re praying to. Know that He hears you. When you know He hears you, you know you have what you’re asking for.
I want to start in Genesis 6, Chapter 1. I’ll read some things verbatim. Other times, I’m going to skip over. I’ll try to remember to tell you when I’m doing that but you follow along. I’m certain it comes from the New King James version. It says, “Now it came to pass when men began to multiply on the face of the Earth and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were very beautiful, and took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.”
Let’s put a pin here because God highlighted some things to me. It’s not a coincidence or it’s not just some happenstance choice of words. God has got a purpose. The Holy Spirit uses mankind to pin this but He is the author, remember. These are His word, his order, “Chosen to write the man thinks in, thinks not in. They’re all intended by God.”
God has intended to write that the sons of God saw the daughters of men. You got the sons of God and then we’re talking about the daughters of men. God was showing me this. When you look this up in Hebrew, if you have any lexicon or something like that you use, you can see that the sons of God were referring to fallen angels. They began to sleep with human beings, then you got the daughters of men.
These demons were literally having sex and reproducing with human beings. Now we got corrupted man in a different way. I don’t mean just corrupted in behavior. I mean the actual bloodline now is demonic at this point. They’re demons. That’s not good because we know that God is sending His Son as a human being through humans. He’s sending Him to be human because we need them to be human in order to be our Redeemer. Let’s be honest, there are so many things we need to be redeemed from.
With that being said, Satan is after the bigger picture. The bigger picture is God. He’s corrupting man and their bloodline. They’re with it. They were being wicked and acting nuts at the time. They were waiting like a buffet. Whatever is on the menu, they’re eating it, evil in all. Any wicked imagination, they’re going forward. Imagine Sodom and Gomorrah but on steroids at this point because you literally got demons, not just influencing people but they are reproducing with them.

“The Lord said, ‘My spirit shall not strive with man forever, for He is indeed flesh. Yet as they shall be 120 years.’ There were giants.” It is demons. This is like Goliath. That’s not normal. There were giants on the Earth in those days. Also, afterward, when the sons of God, those are those demons, came into the daughters of men and humans, and they bore children to them.
Those were the mighty men who were of older men of renown. That’s why it was literally like a giant species. I don’t mean giant like we’re trying to drive home the point that they were bigger. We’re not talking about men that shop at the big and tall store. We’re talking about giants. People like 12 feet tall. These are noticeable giants. That’s not natural. That’s not human. Something else has gone wrong.
It says then, “The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the Earth. Every intent of the thoughts of His heart was only evil continually.” They’re demons at this point. It’s going to be only evil continually for sure. It said, “The Lord was sorry that He made man on the Earth. He was grieved in His heart. The Lord said He’d destroy what He created from the face of the Earth both man and beast, creeping things, birds in the air.”
The Bible says in verse 8 and this is the grace of God. God is love. You can’t help who you are, “But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.” I know that later on, especially in some versions, it’ll say that Noah was perfect in God’s sight. He’s perfect in his behavior. I don’t care if they translated it like that, just being a human being. Once you reach a certain age, you should know that can’t be accurately translated or there must be more to that story because there’s been no perfect mankind, woman either or child other than Jesus.
We know that because we know ourselves. I’m not talking about look at your neighbor. I’m saying the mirror will do. Let’s be honest if we’re keeping it real. I love to keep it real. We aren’t perfect in our behavior. Never have been. We’re going to leave here without doing so because we have flesh. Don’t shoot the messenger.
The good news is we also have found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Where our failings met His grace, that grace swallowed it up. The Bible says, “Where sin abounds, the grace of God is much more abounded or super abounded.” It’s wonderful. God is sending provision before the problem. I love it. His grace was there before we ever even failed.
God was saying Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. We know that no man has been perfect. This is not about Noah being perfect in his behavior. When these translate and discuss Noah being perfect, it was that his bloodline was not mixed with any of these demons. They had not had intercourse with any of these fallen angels.
That’s what it meant. Perfect in his bloodline, not perfect in his behavior because if he was perfect in his behavior, he wouldn’t have to find grace in the eyes of the Lord. He has just been justified because he dotted every I and crossed every T. The grace of God is for people who do make mistakes. Noah had to offer animal sacrifices like anyone else. He was atoning for his sin in a way that was acceptable before Christ came. Thanks be to God for His grace that never fails.
God’s Unfailing Word
I also want to point out something that God showed me while He was ministering to me, that people would not be concerned that God was moving in the way that He did then. It was clearly different circumstances then. On top of that, God has sworn that He’d never flood the Earth again. I wanted to take you to Isaiah 54, part of verse 8, and then read you verse 9 just to show you again in the word of God and not leave it for you to have to take my word for it. You know that this isn’t my opinion. It’s the unfailing word of God.
In verse 8, God said, “But with everlasting kindness, I will have mercy on you says the Lord, your Redeemer, for this is like the waters of Noah to me. As I have sworn that the waters of Noah would no longer cover the Earth, so have I sworn that I would not be angry with you nor rebuke you. For the mountain shall depart and the hills be removed but my kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall my covenant of Shalom be removed peace, says the Lord who has mercy or who has grace on you.” Literally, it’s grace.
I wanted to share that with you because God showed me that. For people not to have any fear that like, “I’ve made mistakes. I’ve done this and that. I’ve even been morally wrong with my body.” That’s what they were doing, sexual morality but no, that was then and this is now. That was BC, Before Christ. Now we’re AD, After Christ, and even His death and that death has made the difference. It’s made the difference forever.

You don’t have to worry about that happening if you’ve made a mistake. As I said, the mercy of God is bigger than your mistake. Forgiveness is already there, especially for the born-again believer. God has already forgiven you and washed you clean. God sees you just like He sees Jesus Christ at His right hand. For as He is, so are we in this world. I said it before and I’ll say it again. It bears repeating.
However God sees us, it’s how it actually is. God sees the truth. He’s never confused. He’s never distracted. He’s never tricked. It’s not His flesh mixed with it. It’s none of those issues. God sees perfectly. He sees you perfect in Christ, the perfect one. You are one with Christ Jesus. This is your reality when you’re born again. Don’t let even your actions, wrong deeds and words stop you from seeing yourself how God sees you because God sees you correctly.
God’s taken into account already everything you’d ever do wrong. The blood of Jesus is the ultimate atonement and has atoned for it. You’re already forgiven. You can thank God for it, but begging Him for it is ridiculous. You can be doing something else with that time to be completely honest. I say that with all due respect but you’re already forgiven by God. You should thank Him for it. If I already sent you a gift, you wouldn’t call me several times a day and be like, “Can you please send me the gift?”
If I sent you, I don’t know your favorite sweater and you’re wearing it while you’re on the phone saying, “Can you please send me the sweater?” It’s crazy and probably thinking like, “We’re going to get you some help or mirror to walk around with to keep seeing yourself in that sweater.” The Bible talks about it. That’s funny. The Holy Spirit let me know that there’s a Bible verse that says, “We behold Jesus,” as in a mirror, and it’s the glory of the Lord. It’s so amazing. As you behold Jesus, that is your way of walking around with the mirror and constantly seeing yourself because you’re in Christ.
As you behold Him continually in the word, anointed teachings and preaching, your songs of worship, I love Hillsong, the elevation worship, songs by people who are anointed of God to write them and even sing them. You behold Jesus that way as well. It helps get your mind off of you and get your mind off of whatever circumstance the enemy is trying to surround you with and distract you with. You get to focus on the Lord who’s got you in the palm of His hand, and whose provisions already preceded every problem that the devil Johnny-come-lately could try to bring into your life.
God is going to take the limits and turn them and eliminate them in any way. You might as well get a glass out as a prophetic act, put some ice in it, and He will know what you’re talking about. God is going to do that for those that are He is. He longs to do it for those who haven’t given their life to Christ like, “Come on and make God’s day by giving your life to Him.” This is not about you going into some place where God is going to browbeat you and it’s 300,000 rules to follow. God sent Jesus because He knew we couldn’t follow one rule right. You break one part of the law. You break it all. That’s the point of sin in Jesus. God knew we were incapable of dotting these Is and crossing these Ts. Come on in and join us, a bunch of people who’ve done a whole lot of failing in their time if they’re honest with you.
God is a lover of this family. No matter how dysfunctional we can be at times, He loves us right on through it. You got to get to know God for yourself. I know for a fact you won’t regret it. I know the grace of God because I know what I’ve done. I know what I’ve said and things like that. God is absolutely the gracious God that the Bible says He is. I’ve seen it now for myself time and time again because I love to keep it real with you all.
That’s the truth. I tell my family, “I don’t levitate. I’m not walking on water. I’m human like you.” Pardon me for dropping the ball again. That’s keeping it real and they respect that. They respect me for that honesty. I respect them because we all rolled the same. We know we’ve received the grace of God, the forgiveness of God. We’re forgiving and gracious towards each other. Maybe sometimes slower than it should be, but we get there by the grace of God.
Praise God, come on in and join the family. There’s room for you at the table. It’s interesting to see that God did that and Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord, meaning he wasn’t perfect. You know the story of Noah that God saved Noah but God also saved his entire family. That’s why I wanted to point out, by the spirit of God. It wasn’t because Noah was perfect in his behavior. That wasn’t it. Noah would not need to find grease in the eyes of the Lord if it were that.
Noah’s Entire Family
Notably, as you read on, you see that it wasn’t just Noah but it was Noah’s entire family. That’s what I want to read to you next. This is the New King James version that I’m reading out of. I’m going to be skipping around. You should read Chapters 6 and 7 because I’m going to read it out on both of those but not in its entirety. In Chapter 6, God said, “But I will establish my covenant with you.” He already announced to Noah what’s about to happen.

He’s going to flood this whole thing and wipe out the corruption and the corrupted, but He’s going to save Noah. God said, “But I will establish my covenant with you and you shall go into the ark. You, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you, even in-laws.” God is stretching it. He’s stretching and is showing you how He honors marriage. That constitutes family for God. Your wife is your family. Your husband is your family. This is so good.
God says, “I’m establishing the covenant with you,” but notice He established the covenant with Noah. He says, “I’m going to save you but I’m going to save your whole house.” People will even be glad they married into your family. It’s because of my covenant with you. Again, people are praying for their loved ones to be saved, even their in-laws. Continue to pray. I come in agreement with you completely in Jesus’ name that God do it. It manifests sooner rather than later in Jesus’ name.
When it comes to salvation, God says, “Now is the acceptable time.” There’s nothing wrong with telling God, “I’m in agreement, God, for an accelerated answer and manifestation in the Earth as it is in heaven to this prayer.” I come in agreement with you about that and the acceleration at that time, especially for married people. It says down in verse 22, “Thus Noah did according to all that God commanded him,” so he did it because God told him, “You’re going to have to make this ark.” He gives them the dimensions.
There’s so much richness in there about Jesus Christ and how He’s our atonement. He is the true ark that we are in. Even though floodwaters are all around, all of this is happening, chaos and corruption, we’re in the ark and we are safe. The ark is rocking and the waves are hitting the ark. They’re not hitting what’s in the ark. The ark is kept perfectly safe. You and I are in Christ Jesus.
Now we’ll skip to Chapter 7. It says, “Then the Lord said to Noah, come into the ark, you and all your household because I’ve seen that you are righteous before me in this generation.” Noah, with his sons, his wife and his sons’ wives, went into the ark because of the waters of the flood. In the end, all that God said was wiped out. Everyone was wiped out. It says, “Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive.”
You can’t tell me God isn’t the for family. God said His covenant was with Noah. When it came down to it, He saved Noah and his entire family, in-laws included. Marriage makes you family in the sight of God. It makes you family because you’re literally one. God doesn’t see a husband and a wife. There are no his and her towels. In God’s eyes, there’s just the one. They’re family and God saved them all. This is amazing. This is good news.
I love how Noah came before the law was given. God gave the law through Moses, the servant. Noah lived before Moses. When we look at Noah, we look at ourselves. He wasn’t under the law. Neither are we. God was gracious towards him. He saw him righteous. This is how we know the law can’t justify or make anyone righteous. There was no law and God can’t lie and He said, “He seems righteous.”
What makes you righteous apart from the law? Christ Jesus, the true ark. The covenant that’s not cut between God and Noah. The one that’s cut between God and Christ Jesus on Noah’s behalf, on our behalf. That’s what we have now. It’s amazing that this covenant, although you may be the only one so far who’s manifested as saved in the Earth in your family, keep praying and believing because it’s the perfect will of God for your family to be saved. Now is the acceptable time. Now is the day of salvation.
The Bible says when it comes to salvation, God is like, “Let’s get it done now.” He’s not testing you with the time. He’s saying now and today, both of those words are used in the Bible. God is with you on that. I’m with you on that. I come in agreement with you once again before the father, that you and your whole house, me and my entire family be saved now, in Jesus’ name. I love you all. We’ll pick up from where we left off and continue to look in the Bible, which is the word of God and also the will of God.
We’ll see and be established more and more and strengthened in our faith as we pray for those we love, family, friends included. We know God chooses not to lose one. We know that we’re praying for His perfect will. We know if we’re praying His will, He hears us. This is the confidence we have in Him. If He hears us, we know that we have the petitions we’ve asked for. We have them, not going to have them. We have them.
That’s a check that you have in your hand. It might not be cash that manifested yet, but you got the check in your hands. You never get a check from God that won’t cash. It’s never going to happen. He’s written His word. You write a check, He signed off on it. It’s Him who said it and for sure the funds are good. You will collect, no question about it. I love you very much. May God continues to bless you and your whole family, protect you, and manifest His glory in your marriage and your family life like never before even today. In Jesus name, I pray.
