God Will Provide For You (Part 2)
A Declaration Of Promise
We’re going to be continuing on but certainly not finishing up our series titled, God Will Provide for You. I love the title that God gave because there’s no reason to doubt. There are no questions to be asked. God has given a definitive statement, a declaration of promise that He will provide for us. I love that there are no uncertainties in God, but there are certainties, definites and promises in Him that are yes and Amen. Before we dive deeper into what God has for us, let’s take a moment and acknowledge the one who’s worthy of being acknowledged.
I thank you, Heavenly Father, for the opportunity to get at the feet of Jesus and hear his word. Thank you for blessing us with the wisdom to know that there’s one thing that’s needful. Thank you for blessing us with the humility to do that. Whether that makes sense to us, whether the world and its demands are crying out for attention, whether the devil himself is trying to distract us, I thank you for giving us the humility and the submission to adhere to your voice and to follow you, God. If you say one thing is needful, let the church say amen. I thank you for every blessing and benefit that comes to all of us, daddy, as we submit to you and we do what it is you called us to do. That’s to hear again and again the word of Christ. I pray that you will give to each and every one of us even more so the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Jesus. Operate that the eyes of our understanding will be enlightened.
That we may know what the hope of his calling is, what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe according to the working of His mighty power. I ask you, Lord Jesus, and I praise you that you’re going to expound on these scriptures to us about the things concerning yourself. I thank you that you are causing us, Holy Spirit, to behold Jesus. As we do, you yourself are transforming us into his very same image. I thank you that we are rested in you. We’re trusting in you. I thank you, daddy, that this is not something that we’re doing. When we labor according to your wheel, we don’t labor in vain. I thank you for we are laboring into your rest and to take hold of that Shalom peace, that aggressive peace that surpasses all understanding literally. That’s what we need in the world that we live in and the different challenges that we face, Lord. In Jesus’ name we pray and we thank you.
The key scripture that the Lord had given me for us, for this series, for life, and like God said earlier, this word is on time, but it’s also timeless. Our minds are to be flooded and filled until it overflows but continually refilled with the word of God. We should see everything through the lens and with the light of Jesus Christ who is the living word of God. To do otherwise is way too much of a risk. Everything is at stake when we don’t. It is vital. It is the most important. I sometimes know the enemy and even life and even well-meaning people, even sometimes sincere believers, Christians try to get us to focus on other things. God said there’s one thing that’s needful. He said that. As I said, well-meaning people sometimes and even demands of life can try to make us feel like you need to do this and you need to do that. I’m not by any means advocating for being lazy or slothful. I’m a very diligent woman by the grace of God. Many people look at what God does through me. I often hear this. My granny says it, people who have seen me behind the scenes have said, “How exactly are you dealing with this? There’s so much on your plate. It had to be you. It’s clearly your call for that because there’s no one else. That’s a whole lot going on.” People can see that.
It’s such grace from God. Praise you, Jesus, on my life, that it will take them to the point that out to me for the most part. Life sometimes tries to pull me away too. I’m human like everyone else that’s human in that there’s flesh. There’s an enemy out there. There are even people who are sincere but are sincerely wrong. They’ll try to get us to focus on other things, “You’ve got to do something else. You’ve got to do this and you better do that.” God is saying the one thing is needful because the only thing that you “do” to receive is to believe, which is not a doing. It’s a faith. It’s a believing not a doing. For the lack of better terms, we’ll say doing.
I love this key scripture because it reminds us that our way of receiving as new covenant believers is by faith. We get everything from God by faith, not by doing, but by believing God. Believing that He has done it, believing that He loves us, believing that He’s not only God Almighty able to bless us, that He is God who is love, willing to bless us, wanting to bless us more than we want it for ourselves. Think about it. Jesus said, “You didn’t choose me, but I chose you.” These promises are from God. We couldn’t even comprehend the scriptures unless God revealed it to us. God has to call us as many are called. Few are chosen. God is doing the calling, the choosing, the pre-destiny, the unveiling. He’s delivering. He’s doing all of that.
God has done all of that. I hate that the enemy tries to take us to a place where after God has done all of that, try to switch us over and start saying, “I know that all of that was the work of God and you got it all by believing God, even being saved. It’s the biggest gift God could give you. You’ve got that one, but it must be something else you’ve got to do to get the rest of this.” If the greatest blessing came by only believing, I don’t understand how the lesser blessing could cost and require more. I do not understand that. That’s quite contrary to even human nature. Even if somebody is not deep spiritually, on a human level, you can understand that. On a totally carnal level, you get that. That doesn’t make any sense.
Why is it that if a Bentley only costs $50,000, why are you charging me $350,000 for a Honda? We don’t understand. We’re not buying that and we’re going to let you know before we leave the dealership, you’re never going to sell that. We’re going to let you know that. We’re popping that bubble before we get out of here. We have to know that if God gave the biggest blessing to us by faith. We received this biggest blessing by faith, then certainly all the lesser blessings that are included with it. The Bible says, “He who didn’t spare His own son but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not also with Him freely give us all things?” It seems like everything other than God almost tries to scream at us, it can’t be that simple.
There must be more to this story. There’s not more to the story. God who created words, God who is the Living Word, who created speech, dialect, definitions, and understanding, who made the man, certainly would know if He didn’t mean to say that there’s another way to say that to convey what you mean. God means what He says and we can take Him at His word. Some things are not so deep. I’m learning that. As God is doing this with me, sometimes I’m like, “God, what does this mean?” I want to dig deep and I’m grabbing shovels. There’s no need for that. Sit right on the grassy surface. The big revelation is right there. It’s writing the plain text and then I don’t have to grab a concordance.
I won’t need any Greek or Hebrew language and I only need to see the pictures of it. I’m saying it’s good. You absolutely should study so you show yourself approved. I do that by the grace and the spirit of God, but sometimes it is what it is. It is what He says, only believe. He meant that. That right there. That was it. Not trying to trick you. There’s no parable here that needs to be interpreted. It is what it is, just believe God. This is meant to be a life of rest and simplicity. That’s Jesus. He’s made it very easy and the kingdom of God is like a seed. It’s small and then it grows and it’s something great. He’s like even if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, it’s small.
It doesn’t take as much as the devil has tried to make it seem like it takes. It’s more so than it takes understanding. It takes humility and it takes honesty. People who are honest with themselves know that they need a savior. They’re like, “It’s definitely me in need of prayer. I’m all over the place, God. What I’m doing is not right. Save me not from the devil, but from myself. I want to be honest, from myself. Save me from me, Jesus.” Those are honest people. Those are humble people. That is richness. That is wealth. That right there will lead you to get saved. Some of this other stuff like it must take more, it has to be this, it can’t be that simple, nobody gets a free lunch, and all this little stuff we’ve been taught, it needs to go away.
We must continue not just to get but stay at the feet of Jesus. He can continue to renew our minds because certainly the devil and even well-meaning people and the enemies, natural and spiritual, have tried to field that man and then we got our own flesh. There’s a lot coming up against that thing. You want to sit there. Jesus said, “If you abide in me and my words abide in you.” These choices of words are intentional. If my word lives in you. Not a once a year vacation. That’s not going to do it. Jesus is the bread of life.
You don’t eat bread, naturally speaking, once a week. You were not created to do that. You were created to nourish your body every day. Your spirit has been created as such that you got to nourish it every day and that’s not a demand. That’s not like something to put on your to-do list. That’s like the whole reason why you’re here. That’s a top priority. That’s top-notch. If it weren’t for God, there would be nothing else. I couldn’t even be a mother, as important as that is, if it wasn’t for God giving me life, sustaining and giving me the ability to reproduce. Give my children and me breath every day. That comes forth from God. In that order, my life, your life, let’s put it in that order. It’s going to be God first and this is not something I do.
This is the privilege and this is the reason why I was even created. That’s the only reason why I’m here. All the rest of this stuff is a bonus. People being, “I’m blessed to be a wife, blessed to be a mom.” That’s perfect. “Blessed to have a business, blessed have a career.” All that’s extra. None of that’s the cream of the crop or the main course for your meal. It’s not. It’s probably like something on top like appetizer maybe or the seasoning on top of appetizers. Some of this stuff is insignificant in the larger scheme of things. I don’t mean your family. Family is even big to God, but I mean it’s not bigger than God. I want to tell you all, I think that what you’re doing is wonderful for yourself, for your family and you’re making your mark on the world that you continue to take the time to get at the feet of Jesus and hear His word.
Let’s go to this key scripture that I love. I’m done ranting by the spirit of God. Let’s go to this key scripture that I absolutely adore because it brings us back to the truth that everything is done. Our part is to receive what is already completed and what is already finished. Our way of doing that is by faith. We’re in this series discussing God as our provider and we are talking about God as our provider financially. The world’s been shaken in a sense financially. We want to remember that our house and our finances are built upon the rock. If somebody’s saying, “I haven’t even given my life to Christ yet.” I would encourage you to do that. You can stop and you can do that and then you can finish reading because you want to be under the covering of Christ Jesus.
He Will Supply
You want to be in His love and He definitely wants you there. He died to get you there. There’s nothing more He could have given to prove that point to you or I. I would encourage you to do that and then receive all the blessings that He has for you, especially in times like the ones we are living in. The scripture says and it’s 2 Corinthians 8-9. I don’t have this here in my notes, but I’m sure that it was the New King James version. It says, “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes, He became poor. That through His poverty, you might become rich.” This is such a blessing. Jesus has this financial provisional unlocked and in addition to that, God said He would supply all of our needs according to His riches and glory in Christ Jesus.
It reminds us that Jesus has done everything for us. He’s literally done it all. Everything that Jesus did, we know was the perfect will of God. He was without sin and Him was no sin. He knew no sin, the Bible says. What Jesus did, becoming poor, He did. That was the perfect will of God and love it that it was done for our good though. The Bible tells us “for our sakes.” That wasn’t for his sake. The King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. The Earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof bankrupted Himself and heaven and came here lowly on a donkey. Reducing Himself like this and clothing Himself in humanity when he’s a deity, to save us and to provide for us even financially.
He’s using financial terms, rich, poor, poverty. God is talking about money. Straight on the ball. He’s not dancing around it. It is what it is. God is interested in your financial well-being. I even love the scripture that says, “Beloved, I pray about all things.” That’s a strong statement to make because there’s a lot to pray about. I pray about all these things. What could He possibly be praying about? That you would prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers. I love it right there. We got our health, we got our spirit, and we got our finances. God is like all of that. I’m interested in, I am your provider and even give you the desires of your heart.
That’s wonderful. One thing we got to remember about God and maybe for some who are reading are learning this for the first time, but God’s way for us to receive all his gifts and promises is by His grace through faith. We’re going to look at a specific example of a man in the Bible you’re probably familiar with. Abraham. God showed me that that’s what Abraham did. Abraham received God’s gifts and promises that He made him by grace through faith. God Himself counted Abraham as righteous. We are called by God Himself, the children of Abraham. You may be wondering why this is important with what’s going on in the world. Some people who have lost their jobs, their savings may be going down.
What does this have to do with what God is providing for my family and me, especially during a time when there’s clearly a famine not just in one place, but in the Earth? Help me understand what it has to do. I’m so glad that you’re bold enough even to have these thoughts. It’s good. Some of the best revelations that God gave us was out of people asking bold questions, especially Peter. He asked Him questions that even to me, I felt like he was a little fresh with Jesus. You better watch your mouth. Truth be told, some of the greatest lessons came out of that or a Pharisee said something or thought something amiss. Some of the most profound teachings of Jesus, some of the most profound truths have the transformative power to change the world came from that.

I’m not offended by that. I know God is not offended by that. Ask on. You can tell, “God doesn’t make sense,” or, “That’s good for Him, what about me trying to get to the point?” God understands all of that and trust me, I’ve been there and I’ve done that, T-shirt and hats to match. I was there. I would love to tell you I was there a little bit further out, but the truth is I was there. I am human too. I love it. I’m glad you asked. I know God is glad you asked because profound revelations come out of these real questions like, “I don’t mean any disrespect, but what about?” I was there so I love it.
You ask why is this important? It’s a good question. It’s important because we are heirs of God. The Bible tells us this now, this is not me. It’s not you trusting my revelation. This is written. We are heirs of God, joint heirs with Christ, and we are also children/heirs of Abraham. It means that what God has for Him, what God has for Jesus Christ, it is for us. Look at Romans 8:15-17. It says, “For you to not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the spirit of adoption by home. We cry out Abba Father.” That’s daddy. “The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. If children, then heirs. Heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ. If indeed we suffer with Him, that we also may be glorified together.” That’s not my word you got to take for. That is the word of the living God. God’s word doesn’t come back empty. It must accomplish what He sent it to do and God can’t lie. We are heirs of God. People sometimes look and they say, “I wish I could have been born in a family like the Obamas.” What would it mean to be an heir of Barack and Michelle Obama? You look at that and I do think that’s a wonderful thing. That’s a blessing. Their children are blessed, but we are and they are heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.
If you can see the privilege, the point, the benefit and the blessings of being the children of Barack and Michelle Obama who have a measure of God’s goodness, certainly you can see the benefit and blessings that go beyond seeing and comprehending of being a child of God who owns everything. Everything comes forth from Him, including them and all they have. Surely you can see the benefit in that. I would do anything to be a part of that family. I would’ve done anything to grow up like that. I would’ve done anything to have that opportunity before me. You don’t have to have that opportunity from your natural parents. God do you one way better. You can have the opportunity directly from Him and become a child of God and have access to anything.
The Earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof. You haven’t even seen everything. You don’t even know everything that’s in the Earth. You don’t even know about your entire inheritance yet, I’m sure. It is plentiful, bountiful, and it would take us our lifetime, probably, lest God bless us and help us to get a hold of and even know everything that is ours. It’s no need to look on natural people when even these natural people themselves are looking to the heels from which come at their help and know that their help came from Jesus Christ. Bypass them and look straight to the heels with them. The same God who blessed them is the same God who is not only able but willing to bless you.
Remember, God is not a respecter of persons. That’s written in the Bible and it’s even written twice. That’s nice that God said it twice. I love it when He does that. That cannot be a coincidence. That cannot be an accident. The Holy Spirit who has important things to say, these are not matters of life and death, the words in the Bible. These are matters of heaven and hell, all eternity. One thing to spend your life and in that be done and over with sooner rather than later. That’s one thing. We got an eternity somewhere. That’s the real picture. That’s not only the big picture. That’s probably the only picture actually. We have probably been distracted with this little short lifetime as opposed to like Jesus said, “Collecting your treasuries and storing up things in heaven.”
We’re worried, busy and focused on this stuff that’s temporary. If you can see it, it won’t last. We have missed the bigger picture. The thing that’s going to be everlasting. I pray God can send you to deliver us. Set us free, God. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Let your priorities take root in our hearts and our houses, in Jesus’ name. I know all of you said amen because we all can use some more of that. Fixing our eyes on the things that matter the most. We’re looking at Abraham. Abraham’s not this historical figure. Remember, we look at the Bible to see and for Jesus Christ to be revealed to us. To see Him, the son of the living God. He is the word. We’re looking for Him.
It’s interesting as it can be that the Bible is the number one selling book in the world of all time like a drama or a TV series. It’s a lot of drama. It’ll rate number one on Netflix, no question. We don’t read it for that purpose, even though it can be. I would say read it. If you got to start there, start there. There’s nothing wrong with that, but because it is good. The book is good. This book is more than something we read. It’s something that reads into us. We find God, we see God face-to-face in a sense in this book. We see the heart of God.
The heart of God is literally laid before us in ways that wash away every lie, everything that came and tried to make God seem harsh and judgmental. The real God stands up and speaks for itself in the Bible. There’s no source greater than that one. That source is greater than this show and any other ministry, even given by God. It is good to get under anointed teachings and preachings where the Holy Spirit can expound on the scriptures to you or enlighten your understanding and give new revelations. Fresh bread is good. If you’ve been to a bakery, these people even try to get there early. You want to get there early because by noon, that bread has been sitting in a while. Bakers are up almost before the sun, if not before the sun is up.
Fresh bread is good. Bread is good. I like bread. Fresh bread is like it’s still warm. It does make everybody hungry that’s reading, including myself. That’s funny. It’s good. We want fresh bread from heaven. Jesus is that fresh bread. We want to look a little bit, not just at Abraham, even though we’ll be discussing his life. We want to see Jesus and we want to see what it means for us. Many of what God promised Abraham and his heirs is ours. This is what we mean by this. This is what that scripture in Romans 8:15 and 17 means. What God promised Jesus is ours. We’re joint heirs with Christ. He didn’t just promise to Abraham, He promised to his heirs.
We are certainly heirs of God, joint heirs with Jesus Christ. God Himself said we’re heirs of Abraham. I get it. There still may be another million-dollar question. If Jesus has done it all and I’m this heir, you show me that. I got you, check. I’m following you so far. How exactly do I obtain the promise? I don’t know. If you’re like me, I like to get to the point. The answer is found, and I will say this so to speak, in what we do. It’s also found in what not to do. I say to do for lack of choice of better words because in order to receive it, you only believe. That’s not a doing. That’s a believing.
Let’s look at Galatians Chapter 3 because this is what we do and we’ll also talk about what we don’t do. It says, “Therefore, he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law or by the hearing of faith? Just as Abraham believed God and it was accounted to Him for righteousness. Therefore, know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham.” The scripture foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand saying, ‘In you, all the nations shall be blessed.’” Those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. Even way back then in Abraham’s day, God preached the gospel. The gospel is being preached to you now. God preached the gospel to Abraham. He knew about the true lamb of God being slain for the sins of the whole world.
He knew about Jesus. God told him all of this and told him that it’s not going to be a system of works to obtain righteousness and to obtain salvation. You’ve got to do this, you’ve got to dot every i and cross every t, you’ve got to stop sinning. You’re going to have to believe that you cannot and you will never be righteous on your own. Not doing or keeping a law can make you righteous, but only the son of God. Believing in Him and what He did to make you righteous is your gateway. That is the way. That’s why Jesus is the way, not a way like a way amongst many. He is the way, definitive article. Only one way. This is why you got to believe that. That’s how you obtain that. Many of you who are reading did that. At some point, you believed. You heard the gospel being preached. Same gospel Abraham heard, you believed.
God counts you as righteous like He does Abraham. You may say, “When I got saved, I was still doing such and such. Even right now, you don’t want to know.” I don’t have to know, but this is what I do know and this is what you have to know. That God Himself made you righteous and whatever God does can’t be undone. You must understand that the blood of Jesus is much greater than your sin, my sin, and the sin of this entire world. How do we know that? As soon as that blood was shed, we know that without the shedding of blood, there’s no forgiveness of sins. When Jesus shed his blood, this wasn’t the day of shedding the blood of goats, pigeons and whatever else they use as animal sacrifices.
This was the day that God Himself shed his blood and died for your sins. That’s more than sufficient. Jesus corrected Peter and telling him, “Don’t call unclean what I have cleansed.” We don’t want the enemy to get us to try to focus on our sins. God told us, “Fix your eyes on Jesus.” You fix your eyes on the savior, not what you need it to be safe from. Look at that. It’s all about Jesus. What about what I did? God’s got the answer for that because He said, “When you behold Jesus, that the spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, transforms you into his same image.” You don’t change yourself. You don’t transform yourself. That’s also not your job. That’s also not my job. It’s not our job to do that for our loved ones either.
Spouses, you may feel this but it’s not the job of a spouse to change their spouse. I know it hurts. You felt that probably, but God does it and beholding. You say, “My spouse is not even reading the word.” You’re being transformed into the same image of Christ. They are looking at you. That’s why God says, “Wife, you can win your husband over even without a word, but by your conduct.” When God is transforming you, you are becoming the same image of Christ. They are beholding you. They may not have cracked that Bible open, sweetheart, and may think they’re smarter than God, but they’re not smarter than God because God gave him a godly wife and they’re beholding you.
Their Eyes Are On Christ
Their eyes are on you. Trust me, as their eyes are on you, come to find out because God is infinitely wise in all He does, their eyes are on Christ. Whenever you fix your eyes on Jesus, you get transformed into the same image. They don’t have a choice. I love God. He’s good and He’s strategic. Let’s look at it and we’re probably going to have to close after this. I’m having the best time with this because I love it when God takes his time and He dissects this word for us. It’s like He does a line upon line, precept upon precept. If you know anything about construction, wherever you’re digging deep to lay a foundation, whatever home or high-rise you’re building on top of it, it’s almost like it cannot fall.
I love it when God takes the time to do this. He doesn’t just make a promise, but He proves it and He goes deep into there and unveils things and pulls things out. I’m telling you, your faith is being built and you believe God without even being consciously aware that you believe God. Faith comes by hearing the word of Christ. All you had to do was hear the word of Christ. Faith has already come. As we continue to do this, it keeps coming. You unconsciously believe God and therefore receive. You’ve positioned yourself by humbling yourself and following God to be truly blessed in a way like never before, even in a time like this. You’ve got to remember God is the same yesterday, today and forever.
The Hebrew boys were in a situation where trouble was all around. The heat is seven times worse. It was a hot storm. It was a most fierce and severe storm that they were in that fire and God protected them. We know God’s protection is not about the absence of trouble. It’s about the presence of God, and God is almighty God. This is wonderful news for us. Don’t look at what happened to this one. Don’t look at what happens to that one. Fix your eyes on Jesus, not your neighbor. Not what happened on the news. I’m not saying don’t watch the news. Get whatever information you need and get out of there is what I would say. The news, if not almost, can lead to full-blown depression after watching it. Don’t do that gloom and doom thing. There is a time in life to mourn. Even the Bible says that, but the news would have it that you mourn every day, all day, every time they open up their mouth and speak and that for sure is not God. We’re not going in that dark hole. Not for the sake of their ratings.
Here’s what we don’t do to receive it. We know that we only believe in receiving it. That’s what Abraham did. That’s what we’re to do. Surely as we do it, God calls us righteous and the Bible is full of promises to the righteous. We have a bountiful and plentiful inheritance. There’s nothing you could ever need or want that is not included in your inheritance. Your imagination doesn’t run that deep. I promise you God thought of it before you did. It’s wonderful. Here’s what we don’t do though. This is still from the New King James version and it continued on. This is verse 10, “For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse. For it is written, cursed is everyone who does not continue on all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. That no one is justified by the law and the sight of God is evident. For the just or the righteous shall live by faith. Yet the law was not a faith, but the man who does them shall live by them.” It says in verse 13, “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. Having become a curse for us. For it is written, cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree, that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus. That we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”
We see what to do. That’s to believe God. We’re blessed with believing God. Your inheritance is a blessing. There are curses in the world. That’s the state of the fallen world we’re in. We’re going to take it for what it is. It is what it is. There’s a way we can be in it but not of it. All is not lost for the believer, for those who are born again. What we don’t do is what God said, “For as many as are of the works of the law.” It’s important to note that God didn’t say, “For as many who break the law under the curse.” That’s not what He said. Here we go in layman’s terms. He said, “For as many who try to keep the law. If you try this,” I don’t know where you all grew up at, but I grew up in a South suburb of Chicago, Robbins, Illinois. Pretty rough streets in the Midwest and in some parts like Chicago and Detroit. Only the strong survive for real. That’s not a T-shirt slogan. That is a reality. I grew up in a place where they would say things like, “If you run up, you’re going to get done up.” Everybody knew what that meant. There were certain people, certain gangs, you don’t try it. If you try it, if you even so much as try it, it’s over with. It’s over in the trying.

The law is even worse than that because it doesn’t ever miss. Even a drug dealer aiming well and practices target can miss. I’m telling you, people get under the law and try to keep it, for sure they going fail. God said it. How do I know they’re going to fail? God said nobody is justified by keeping the law. That’s how I know they’re going to fail because God is ahead of time saying that’s the wrong answer on the test. He can’t lie. I’m not checking that box if he says that’s the wrong answer. As many people that try it with the law, it’s not going to miss. It’s going to aim and it is going to score. I’m telling you that every time. God’s answer is for the blessing, you receive it by faith. Avoid that curse like the plague. You don’t try to keep a law that I already told you, you could not keep. If you could keep the law, then Christ died in vain. Why would I send Jesus? What would you need a savior for? Why would I have to come and save you if you could save yourself? For what? Why would I loan you $10,000 if you already got $10 million? For what? You’ve got it already.
We’ve got to take God at His word and the devil and religion are going to come and try us and swear to us. There’s got to be more than this story. What did God say? I like that from that movie Preacher’s Kid where the father tells his daughter that represents the prodigal son in that movie. She’s getting ready to abandon her father and God and her inheritance. She’s like this is what she wants to do. She got dreams and she got this for her life. Don’t quote me, but I’m paraphrasing. Her father stops her to say, “What did God say?” Sometimes we got to do that. We’re telling God what the symptom is and we’re telling God what the doctors say. There’s nothing wrong with that. I pray you get it off your chest. You’re going to have to get it off your chest. We tell Him all of that, but if we don’t get back to the point, because David did a lot of venting. A lot of this, a lot of that and God and his enemies.
He’s like, “My hope is in you, Lord.” David always got back to that place. Return to your stronghold, prisoners of hope. Even if he got away from it, when God gave the command and returned to it, he returned to it. That’s what I’m saying. Get it off your chest, by all means, vent. I have to do that. I did that. My mother was a sounding board. God, help her heal from the thing she heard, but I needed to get it off my chest. I had to vent. I had to let this thing out. I’m better off because of it. I’m having a light, happy day. It was because I needed to get that off my chest.
I’m venting and telling God everything is wonderful. It’s important. It matters, but always return to the stronghold, you prisoners of hope. Do that. Always return back to that place and hope in God. Hope according to the word of God is not like, “I hope it works out,” like a Vegas gambling tone behind when you rolled the dice. “I hope it’s a seven.” Not that kind of hope. That’s bad hope. Only people rich in Vegas, casino owners probably. That is not the hope we’re talking about. That’s not the hope God is talking about. God would never send us off and the casinos are a send-off. God is good at giving us hope that’s sure. The Bible calls Jesus our hope.
Jesus is an anchor to our soul. A ship that’s about to be cast away is now rock solid and not moving, stable in all his ways because it’s anchored. Jesus is not just, “I hope it happens. It would be nice, but I don’t know.” That’s not what God is saying. Jesus is sure. As sure as Jesus is Jesus, as sure as if you put your hope in Him. You will never be disappointed. It is equally as sure. I love you and God bless you. We’re going to continue to let God expound on these things through us and lay this deep, solid foundation because the wind is blowing. We know that the storms have started raging. We are allowing God to continue to build us on the rock and we won’t be moved. The storm will be over. It always does. This too shall pass, but we’ll be better off when it does. I love you. God bless you. I’ll talk to you next time.
