Let Go and Let God! Part Three

Let go and Let God 3If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. 2 Timothy 2:13

For the last couple of weeks the Lord has lead us to meditate on the power of letting go and letting God (trusting God with everyone and everything that concerns us).  We have looked at various people’s lives and learned valuable lessons and saw the faithfulness of God to resolve any challenge in our favor when we let go and trust Him!  Jesus is our greatest example of the power of letting go and letting God. The Bible says that Jesus loved not His life unto death (Philippians 2:8). He obeyed and trusted God even unto death. Now, remember, when Jesus came to earth, He came in human flesh as a Man, and He was tested in all ways a man can be tested, but was without sin (Hebrews 4:15).  Jesus, as a Man, faced the challenge of trusting God in a frightening situation…a matter of life or death. Right before Jesus was crucified, He prayed to God in a garden to pass that cup of suffering, sin and separation from His Father that He was about to drink on the cross for all of us… as all of us. But instead of letting fear over take Him, Jesus let go and let God, saying, “not My will but Your will be done” (Mark 13:42). And the result is…God raised Jesus from the dead, and just at the mention of His name, every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord (Philippians 2:10).   What shall we say of all these things?  God is good, and so worth our trust!

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord.” Jeremiah 17:7
