Jesus, The Gift That Keeps On Giving!

Jesus Gift

“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love…”  (Jeremiah 31:3)

Jesus is the greatest Gift God ever gave this world, and ever could.  When He gave Jesus, and Jesus gave up His life for us, He gave us heaven’s best.  All that we ever could need or want is in and through Jesus.  Jesus is heaven’s best!  And when you have Him you have it all!  Since all that God has given us is wrapped up in Jesus,it behooves us to know Jesus and His love for us.  It also behooves us to know all this gift includes and receive it all with all our hearts.  God let me know receiving what He has paid so high a price (the death of His only begotten Son) is the greatest way to thank Him.  Let’s get to know the Gift and what it entails.

One of the first things Jesus provides us is unconditional love…what the bible calls perfect love. When we receive this perfect love, we live a life of rest and all fear is literally CAST OUT!  (1 John 4:18).  And when we know and believe this love God has for us…this unconditional perfect love, we also have boldness and confidence to ask God what we want and need. God is love and love endures and it never fails (1 John 4:16 & 1 Corinthians 13).  It loves us when we do right and it loves us the same when we do wrong!  And no matter what, God loves us…after all; God is love.  Nothing less than Hallelujah for the love of God for us in Christ Jesus!  This love, Jesus, is a gift that truly keeps on giving.

Jesus is also our guarantee that God answers our prayers, and provides for us every promise He made. “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us” (2 Corinthians 1:20). God promised that Jesus justified the ungodly (us before we accepted Jesus), and He made us righteous (Romans 3:21).  This isn’t just good news because God is not angry with us and we will never be apart from Him again, it is also good news because every promise God made in His word to the righteous is our portion!  (Romans 5:8-11, Isaiah 54:9-10 & Hebrews 13:5).  It all belongs to us!  I don’t know about you, but I am so happy about this!  If you go in the book of Proverbs (although there are promises God made to the righteous throughout the entire bible) you will find so many promises from God for the righteous.  In the old covenant people had to do right, and not do wrong, for these promises to be theirs, but now for us, under the new covenant of God’s unfailing grace and mercy; Jesus gave us His very own righteousness as a free gift…and therefore, every blessing promised to the righteous is also freely given us!  Hallelujah again!!!  Let’s take some time and go into God’s word, asking Him to open up these scriptures to us, and reveal His love for us in Jesus, and all He has blessed us with…especially as the righteous, because indeed this righteousness is everlasting. God did it, and it cannot be undone…and, likewise the promises can’t be undone! In other words, this Gift keeps on giving!  Knowing this is good news, but beloved, let’s not just stop there…just reading the scriptures about the righteous.  Let us then say and believe; “Lord Jesus I receive every one of these promises you made me, for indeed I am the righteousness of God in You Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21).

“Surely in the Lord I have righteousness and strength…”  (Isaiah 45:24)
