If You Don’t Have It, You Don’t Need It (Part 12)

In this episode of The One Thing That’s Needful Podcast, Dr. Siohvaughn Funches-Dunham brings the series “If You Don’t Have It, You Don’t Need It” to a close by reinforcing a central truth: God is faithful to supply every need, even when circumstances make that seem impossible. Rooted in Philippians 4:19, the message encourages believers to stop being ruled by natural logic, lack, or fear, and instead trust the Lord’s provision with full confidence.

Dr. Funches-Dunham uses several powerful Bible stories to illustrate this point. She revisits the feeding of the multitude in John 6, showing how Jesus multiplied a boy’s small offering into more than enough for thousands, with twelve baskets left over. She then points to the story of Ruth and Boaz, highlighting how Ruth’s faithfulness and dependence on God led her from hardship and desperation into unexpected favor, provision, and restoration. Finally, she looks at the widow of Zarephath in 1 Kings 17, where God sustained a woman, her son, and the prophet Elijah through a famine with flour and oil that never ran out.

The episode’s message is simple but strong: what looks insufficient in the natural is no obstacle to God. When believers rest in Christ, give thanks, and trust His word, they can expect not just survival, but overflowing provision, divine favor, and enough to bless others.
