If You Don’t Have It You Don’t Need It (Part 8)

In this episode of The One Thing That’s Needful Podcast, Dr. Siohvaughn Funches-Dunnom continues the series “If You Don’t Have It, You Don’t Need It.” The message is anchored in Philippians 4:19 and reinforces the central theme that God is the source of every real need, so believers are called to trust His provision rather than their own limited understanding.

The teaching follows Paul and Silas in Acts 16, showing how God redirected their steps, opened Lydia’s heart, and then used their imprisonment as the stage for a supernatural deliverance. Even while bound in the inner dungeon with their feet in stocks, they prayed and sang hymns at midnight, and God answered with an earthquake that opened the doors and broke the chains of every prisoner.

A major emphasis of the episode is that captivity is often built on doubt, fear, and unbelief, but faith is stronger and comes by hearing the word of Christ. Dr. Funches-Dunnom encourages listeners to stop reacting in the flesh, let God defend them, and remember that even the darkest season can have a divine purpose.

The episode closes with a strong call to keep believing, even if freedom has not yet fully shown up in the natural. Like Paul, Silas, and the jailer’s household, the listener is pointed toward salvation, breakthrough, and the assurance that God can turn a prison into a place of praise and testimony
