God Has Not Changed His Mind (Part 2)

TOT 112 | Family Affair

One of the most comforting truths in Scripture is this: God does not change His mind. In a world filled with delays, opposition, and uncertainty, believers often find themselves questioning whether God’s promises still stand. Yet the Word of God declares with unwavering clarity that what He has spoken, He will surely bring to pass.

In Part 2 of this series, we are reminded that the time between promise and fulfillment is not proof of abandonment, but rather a place of preparation. God is not like man that He should lie, nor does He revise His intentions when circumstances become difficult. His Word remains settled forever

The Waiting Room Between Promise and Manifestation

Let God Nourish You

When God gives a promise, joy and anticipation often follow. But Scripture is honest in telling us that persecution and delay frequently arise for the Word’s sake. The enemy works overtime during this waiting period, attempting to sow doubt, frustration, and weariness. His goal is simple: to convince believers that God has changed His mind — when He has not.

The truth is this: the work is already finished in Christ. Jesus has completed everything necessary for believers to inherit the promises of God. Our role is not to force fulfillment, but to believe — no matter how long it takes, no matter who opposes, and no matter what circumstances suggest.

David: A Living Example of Unchanging Promise

To anchor this truth, Scripture leads us to the life of King David. Though anointed as king in 1 Samuel 16, David did not immediately ascend the throne. Instead, he endured seasons of obscurity, misunderstanding, and opposition — even from those closest to him.

David’s journey teaches us something vital: delay does not cancel destiny.

Before slaying Goliath, David was found doing something seemingly insignificant — delivering bread and cheese to his brothers. He did not despise this small assignment. He obeyed his father, humbled himself, and showed up faithfully. That obedience placed him in the right place at the right time for God’s purpose to unfold.

Do Not Despise Small Beginnings

God consistently honors humility. David’s willingness to serve quietly opened the door to a destiny moment that would alter the course of his life — and the history of Israel. What looked like a minor task became the doorway to divine promotion.

This principle still stands today: there is no task too small when God is involved. Obedience positions us for elevation. Pride delays it.

Opposition Will Come — Even From Familiar Voices

As David stepped closer to fulfillment, resistance intensified. His own brother accused him falsely. King Saul questioned his ability. Yet David refused to be distracted, discouraged, or deterred. He remained focused, confident not in himself, but in the faithfulness of God who had already delivered him before.

This is a crucial lesson for believers: the enemy often uses familiar voices and respected authority figures to undermine faith. But no word carries more weight than the Word God has spoken.

David did not allow fear-filled opinions to silence faith-filled conviction. And because he stood firm, others were forced to shift — not David.

God has not changed His mind about you.

If you are standing in a waiting season today, hear this clearly: God has not changed His mind about His promises to you. Opposition does not mean denial. Delay does not mean defeat. And discouragement does not mean disqualification.

Just as God remained faithful to David, He remains faithful to you. What He has spoken cannot be undone. What He has planted will bear fruit. And what He has promised will surely come to pass.
